Linzer Cookies

These Linzer Cookies area unit such a classic Christmas cookie that i can not imagine Christmas while not them! you'll be able to modification the flavour of the jam for various variations.


Ingredients

•        1¼ cup butter
•         cup sugar
•        1½ cups almonds, ground
•        2 cups general flour
•        ¼ tsp. cinnamon
•        6 Tbsp. strawberry jelly or jelly of your selection
•        Garnish: granulated sugar

Manual


  1. mix butter and sugar till light-weight and downy.
  2. Stir in a verylmonds (I simply place my almonds in a kitchen appliance and pulse till finely ground), cinnamon, and flour.
  3. cowl and refrigerate for a minimum of one hour.
  4. On a gently floured surface, roll out half the dough at a time to ⅛ in. thick. Cut out twenty four circles with a 2½ in. spherical kitchen utensil. Cut out centers of circles with a ½ in. mini cookie cutter; leave the remaining circles uncut.
  5. Place one in. apart on baking sheets.
  6. Bake at 325 degrees F for 10-12 minutes till golden.
  7. Cool utterly on a wire rack.
  8. Thinly unfold jelly over solid circles; sprinkle cut cookies with granulated sugar and sandwich over jelly.
